Claudia Rodríguez

Cinematographer

Formada en Dirección de Fotografía en la Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC), donde cursó el Posgrado y el Máster de la especialidad, y licenciada en Comunicación Audiovisual por la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), ha diseñado la dirección de fotografía de proyectos de ficción y documental con recorrido en festivales nacionales e internacionales.

Destacan Berta y Dana, ambas dirigidas por Lucía Forner Segarra, esta última reconocida con dos premios a Mejor fotografía (WIFFEN Nigera y Certamen de Cabra), más de 47 premios internacionales, seleccionada en la long list de los Oscar y candidata a los Premios Goya. Su trabajo ha sido presentado en festivales como Sitges, Seminci o Fantasia en Canadá. Entre otros trabajos como Techo de cristal, de Marta Soria (IFF New York), el documental Sense Ficció Gador i els Taurons, d’Oriol Gispert para 3Cat, o el documental Call Me Johnny Please, de Marta Diego (Mecal Barcelona).

Como directora de fotografía, ha construido su mirada a lo largo de años de trabajo en rodajes como técnica operadora de video en producciones nacionales e internacionales. Entre sus proyectos más recientes destacan Rosebush Pruning (Karim Aïnouz, Efthimis Filippou), Forastera (Lucía Aleñar), The Penguin Lessons (Peter Cattaneo), La sociedad de la nieve (J.A. Bayona), Balandrau (Fernando Trullols), Marlowe (Neil Jordan), The English (Hugo Blick), Alma (Sergio G. Sánchez), Diecisiete (Daniel Sánchez Arévalo) y El día de mañana (Mariano Barroso). Además de trabajar asiduamente en publicidad para todo tipo de marcas y videoclips musicales.

Trained in Cinematography at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC), where she completed a Postgraduate Diploma and a Master’s degree in the field, and holding a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), she has crafted the cinematography for fiction and documentary projects showcased at national and international festivals.

Notable works include Berta and Dana, both directed by Lucía Forner Segarra, the latter recognized with two Best Cinematography awards (WIFFEN Nigeria and the Cabra Audiovisual Contest), more than 50 international awards, selected on the Oscar longlist, and a candidate for the Goya Awards. Her work has been presented at festivals such as Sitges, Seminci, and Fantasia in Canada. Other notable projects are Techo de cristal, by Marta Soria (IFF New York), the documentary Sense Ficció Gador i els Taurons, by Oriol Gispert for 3Cat, and the documentary Call Me Johnny Please, directed by Marta Diego (Mecal Barcelona).

As a director of photography, she has shaped her visual approach through years of experience on set as a video operator on national and international productions. Her most recent projects include Rosebush Pruning (Karim Aïnouz, Efthimis Filippou), Forastera (Lucía Aleñar), The Penguin Lessons (Peter Cattaneo), The Society of the Snow (J.A. Bayona), Balandrau (Fernando Trullols), Marlowe (Neil Jordan), The English (Hugo Blick), Alma (Sergio G. Sánchez), Diecisiete (Daniel Sánchez Arévalo), and El día de mañana (Mariano Barroso). She also works regularly in advertising for various brands and music videos.
